Mr. Koichi Oba re-elected as ESWA President
ESWA Board elected as well. Mr. Bernard Merkx to follow Ms. Karin Arz as Managing Director.
European Single ply Waterproofing Association (ESWA) is the Brussels based leading EU trade association representing the interests of the thermoplastic / single ply waterproofing membrane producers in Europe. The objective is to promote innovative, durable and environment-friendly thermoplastic waterproofing solutions for specifiers and end users.
During last week’s General Assembly in Brussels, the ESWA members unanimously re-elected ESWA President, Mr. Koichi Oba, vice president Mr. Bruno Broccanello, and treasurer Mr. Erik Øyno, for a second term of 2 years and applauded the ExCom for the work achieved in recent years.
ESWA members also warmly welcomed Mr. Jan Bauder, CEO of German Paul Bauder GmbH & Co KG group as new member. Mr. Bauder committed to play an active role in the Technical Committee.
ESWA President Mr. Koichi Oba stated “We will continue our key initiatives to bring our association to another level. Thank you very much for all members supporting our directions. We became more active to develop single-ply roof membrane market together and gained new members to create new ideas for future development.”
Mrs. Karin Arz, ESWA managing director since several years will officially step down on June 30th and will hand over that position to Mr. Bernard Merkx, a plastics industry veteran, who was elected with unanimous votes by the members present.
“The achievements of ESWA and the member companies in recent years have provided a solid basis for the European production and supply of sustainable long life roofing products. End of life products are increasingly collected and prepared for recycling via the Roofcollect system and the environmental awareness among the members is already on a high level compared to other sectors. Yet also in our industry there are still challenges to further improve towards more circularity. It will be my great pleasure to accompany ESWA members on this journey” stated Bernard Merkx
